Our Story
From a single feasibility study to a national portfolio
PT Axerna Renewable Energy was founded in Jakarta in 2012. Our founder Markus Straub moved to Indonesia from Germany as an SAP Consultant — and saw the country's vast untapped hydropower potential first-hand.

Markus Straub
Founder & President Director
Markus moved to Indonesia from Germany as an SAP Consultant and founded Axerna in 2012. He has led the company from its first feasibility studies to a portfolio of 30+ projects and 150 MW of installed capacity, and now drives the expansion into Power-to-X and green data infrastructure.
Devindra Ratzarwin
Director Business Development
Devindra leads Axerna's business development — building relationships with project owners, off-takers and investors, and steering new opportunities from first contact through to signed agreements across the Indonesian renewable energy market.
Rudolf Leitner
Technical Director Hydropower Operations
Rudolf is responsible for the technical integrity of Axerna's hydropower operations — overseeing commissioning, plant performance and long-term operations & maintenance across the installed portfolio.
Uci Anasih
Co-Founder & Head of Sales
A co-founder of Axerna, Uci heads the sales organisation — managing client relationships and equipment sales, and ensuring every customer is supported from first inquiry through delivery and after-sales service.
Zamzam Zakaria
Director Small Hydro & Project Development
Zamzam directs Axerna's small hydro and project development activities — guiding sites from identification and licensing through feasibility, financing and into construction.
Hari Wibowo Adi Putro
Senior Civil Engineer & Site Assessment Lead
Hari leads site assessments and civil engineering — evaluating hydrology, topography and geology of candidate sites and turning the most promising ones into bankable hydropower projects.
